It's National School Nurse Day.
Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses.
National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting.
School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week. National Nurses Week is May 6-12 each year.

Today, Colleton County School District wishes our teachers a "Wonderful Wednesday"! May your day be filled with empowering students, cultivating minds, helping students grow, encouraging creativity, & shaping futures.

"The Colleton County School District extends its heartfelt thanks to our incredible school nurses for the exceptional care they provide to our students and staff every single day. On National Nurses Day, May 6, 2025, we invite you to join us in celebrating their dedication and compassion. Take a moment to thank a nurse today for all they do!"

Today, Colleton County School District is truly lucky to have teachers that show all the care, understanding, and patience while working with our students! Thank you, TEACHERS, for everything you do!

The students at BSECC had the opportunity to participate in the Colleton Soil & Water Conservation District's annual Poster Contest, sponsored by some amazing people, but most importantly, the late Reverend Gerald Mabry. Four class posters were entered into this contest; Mrs. Holmes, Ms.Burns, Mrs.Avant, and Ms. Gowins' students worked hard on them in the Discovery lab. Taleyah Washington, the BSECC Discovery Lab teacher, worked with these classes to design posters and was honored to have the opportunity to attend their awards banquet on May 1st. We are proud to announce that Mrs. Avant's class won first place! Congratulations to all of our students on such great drawings.

Colleton County School District encourages students to "Thank a Teacher" today by drawing a special picture to show your appreciation.
